Aging gracefully or gratefully?
There's no denying being a senior when your Medicare card arrives in the mail. How did that make me feel? Grateful, but not old.
To me, aging gracefully doesn't mean throwing in the towel and accepting what aging does to you.
We need to shed the notion that it is self-centered and vain to take care of yourself and want to look and feel your best. After all, feeling more engaged can contribute to a longer and fuller life.
There is no obligation to demurely step back to let others step in, unless you want to. This is a time to do more of what you want after a life of doing what 'needs' to be done and doing for others.
