How To Live An Immune Lifestyle + RECIPE

A VIRUS IS CONTAGIOUS.
SO IS COMMON SENSE AND KINDNESS.

Everyone knows to wash your hands like a demon, use sanitizers and avoid crowds during the Corona Virus pandemic. So now that you are tucked away, what can you do to build your immunity?

STRENGTHEN YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM

TAKE A WALK. Fresh, open air is a better choice than a crowded gym during a viral crisis. Exercise causes your body’s antibodies and white blood cells to circulate more rapidly, which means they may be able to hone in on bugs more quickly. Being active also lowers stress hormones, which reduces your chances of getting sick. Try a PRAYER walk. Pray for people in the homes you pass. Prayer will help to alleviate fear and …

REDUCE STRESS levels. Stressed minds are more likely to produce cytokines, molecules that trigger inflammation, and are more likely to get sick.

DON’T PANIC. This too shall pass. Instead, do something productive…share some TP or healthy food, even if you have to leave it on a doorstep. Why? Because it makes you feel human, connected, and less isolated, and they will feel loved. When your stress levels go down, you …

SLEEP better. When you’re sleep-deprived your body churns out stress hormones like cortisol to keep you awake and alert, which can suppress your immune system. Be mindful of …

SUPPLEMENTS. Zinc is on the hotlist to help fight viruses, but too much can be seriously damaging, according to this studyfrom the Mayo Clinic. Instead of relying on supplements, take time to …

COOK, and look for easy immunity boosting recipes, like this delicious CHAI TEA, below. Learn to use ANTI-INFLAMMARY herbs like garlic, ginger, rosemary, oregano and turmeric. Turn off Netflix and turn on your creativity. Food is medicine.

Look for organic whole, unprocessed ingredients that retain the nutrients of the food, just like the ingredients we use in TellurideGlow skincare with antibacterial, anti-viral, and anti-inflammatory plant properties.

Cooking doesn’t have to be hard and you’ll know exactly who’s been touching your food. And when this is over, you may have discovered a fun, healthy way to improve your long term health.

I’ll be sharing more immune boosting recipes in the GLOWTips section on our TELLURIDE Glow website.

IMMUNITY BOOSTING CHAI TEA

Toss everything in a crockpot except the coconut milk, cook for 3-6 hours, then add the milk and reheat. While it’s cooking, call your family and neighbors, especially the elderly, the ill, people who are out of work, or those with special needs. Offer to help. And when it’s done, surprise a neighbor alerting them to a doorstep delivery (in one of the many cute mugs cluttering your cabinet.)

You’ll appreciate this tea for the taste and healthy benefits. Ginger, cinnamon and turmeric are strong antioxidants shown to naturally boost the immune system.

Vanilla is also rich in antioxidants and superb at fighting skin damaging free radicals. Vanilla is a stabilizer and helpful for blemish prone skin.

TellurideGlow uses vanilla bean in the Snow Rose Recovery Mask, The Purist Delicate Skin Serum, and the Aspen Dew Illuminating Essence

INGREDIENTS:

4 Cups water

4 Cups coconut milk (boxed or canned)

1/2 cup Monkfruit sweetener

8 bags of black tea

1/2 teaspoon dried ginger

6 cinnamon sticks

12 whole cloves

1/4 teaspoon turmeric

1 teaspoon vanilla extract or  1/4 teaspoon wild vanilla powder

Tip: For an extra creamy topper, whip some canned coconut milk with a bit of honey and dollop generously.

One more thing…check the expiration on your sanitizers.
